Mark Your Calendar this Valentine’s Day: The Job & Internship Fair is Here

Julia Keating | February 8, 2024

On Valentine’s Day, Warren Wilson College (WWC) will be hosting its annual Job and Internship Fair. The fair will be held on Feb. 14 and 15 in Canon Lounge from 11:30-1 p.m. On Feb. 14 the fair will host a variety of industries, while on Feb. 15 it will focus on both the outdoor and agricultural industries.

This is a phenomenal opportunity for students to get an idea of what organizations in the area are looking to work with them. While it is common to feel intimidated by the thought of talking to employers at tables, it can be a great way to have any questions answered upfront.

Anna Robinson is the crew leader for the Center for Integrated Advising and Careers (CIAC) Crew. In her role, Robinson supports students in their transition to college and connects them with resources in their academic journey.

Everyone, from freshmen to seniors, can benefit from attending the fair. There will be over 50 local organizations that appeal to a wide range of majors to provide students with an idea of what is available for them. You can find a link to affiliated organizations here.

Meeting employers in person can help students connect what they do in the classroom with real jobs and internships, many of which are looking to hire WWC students.

Myriads of students have found seasonal jobs, part-time jobs, full-time jobs and internships — including capstone sites — through attending this fair. Students can additionally gain networking skills and an idea of jobs of interest after graduation.

For more information and support, schedule a meeting with a member of the CIAC, such as Robinson, via Handshake. Go to the Career Center on the Handshake app and choose who you want to meet with. The CIAC can help you stand out as a great candidate for the job or internship of your choice.
