Krewe of Endymion Salutes The Poets Parade. Founded in 1967, Endymion is a figure from Greek mythology who was granted eternal youth by Zeus to preserve his beauty. The parade is one of Carinval’s largest, with 81 floats and over 3,000 riders.
A crowd of people lined the streets reaching out in order to catch anything that may be thrown at them.

The Endymion parade began at 4:15 p.m. on Orleans Ave. and ended at 7:15 p.m. directly on Julia St. Throughout the night it was a chilly 50 degrees, and crowds of thousands of people formed to get beads, cups, hats and rings if lucky.
