TW: Brief mentionings of violence
Who is milkrat? Why is there an immovable chair in the silo by the red barn? How did the treehouse end up in the middle of the woods?
Warren Wilson College is filled with history, stories, tales and even the paranormal. Warren Wilson, founded by education-minded Presbyterian missionaries 127 years ago, has undergone various educational adjustments. Since 1967, the institution has been a four-year liberal arts college that offers a unique combination of education and labor, requiring students to complete work-related duties as part of their graduation requirements. It's no surprise that such an old and strongly knit community has some bizarre stories to share.
Hellen Kittredge, the spirit who haunts Kittredge Theatre, is claimed to create substantial set changes, such as moving props and tampering with the lighting. She is said to be impatient and has been known to damage objects when she does not approve of the performances.
Various spirits are reported to occupy Jensen Lecture Hall, who operate the elevator at random, cause lights to flicker, and disconnect power to electronic devices.
The Dorland dormitory is allegedly haunted by the female victim of a terrible axe attack perpetrated by another female student. It's unclear whether the hauntings are connected to this occurrence or some other unworldly incident, but the seriousness of the attack leads many students to spread this tale.
Get your costumes ready because these are just a few excerpts of the story The Echo plans to tell for a special Halloween edition.
