Wilson Critters Weekly 4/14

Jeff Keith, professor of history and archivist of Warren Wilson College (WWC), has recently adopted a crazy, sweet and playful puppy from the Avery County Humane Society. Her name is Daisy, named after her home on Daisy Hill, and she is a 3-month-old... beagle? Hound? Mastiff? It’s too early to tell what the pup truly is. So far in her young age, she has made quite clear her liking for homemade doggie treats made by Brian Conlan, WWC’s former Library Director. Daisy is a quiet but social pet, always up for some pets or even being held at her small, but rapidly growing, size. She’s also sociable with other dogs, but she doesn’t seem to see the difference between a friend and a chew toy. Daisy, still being a baby, has that soft velour-like feel on her fur and the iconic puppy smell. Though she isn’t a working or emotional support dog, she still provides Keith with great companionship, especially after the loss of his previous pet, Finney, who was also a much-loved campus character.
