Valentine’s Day Tarot

Love is in the air! Whether you’re thinking about romantic, platonic or self love, taking a mindful moment to consider what love means to you is always worth your time.

Each of these three cards were chosen from the Morgan Greer tarot deck; cards were pulled with intentions set for whoever needed to see these cards to find them! Choose a tarot card for something to think about this Valentine’s Day.

The III of Cups is a card that refers specifically to relationships with other people. Love should be joyful and exciting in whatever form it takes! This may mean you want to spring at every possible chance to spend time with loved ones. Have fun, make and strengthen connections, but remember that you don’t have to spread yourself thin in order to feel the love. It’s not your job to be present at all times, or to accommodate other people at your own expense. Balancing the excitement of interpersonal relationships and the importance of taking time for yourself is the best way to get the most out of time spent with loved ones. Enjoy every moment you spend with your people, and remember that taking space for yourself makes time spent with your loved ones even more valuable!

The IX of Swords can be an uncomfortable card to pull. It can refer to anxiety, fear, or dread. In the context of love, this card may mean you’ve been carrying these feelings as a result of painful relationships you’ve endured in the past. This regret or residual fear might be affecting your current relationships negatively. Don’t let yourself forget that you are more than your past, and more than your suffering. Believe the nice things people say about you and stop saying unkind things to yourself. Pay attention, but try not to always assume the worst. Seek out relationships with people who understand your worth, and don’t be afraid to say no to people who don’t. No one who makes you feel anxious, fearful or worthless deserves your time; you deserve love!

The VII of Swords can imply deception, dishonesty, or manipulation. If something doesn’t feel quite right in a relationship, trust your gut. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and have discussions; you deserve open communication with the people in your life. On the other hand, remember that you never need to hide your true self in order to thrive in a loving relationship! If someone makes you feel as though you need to dull yourself down in order to keep them happy, they’re not worth your time. If you’re the one telling yourself that parts of you need to be hidden, be kind. Would you say the things you say to yourself to the people you love? True love, romantic or platonic, is unconditional. Be honest with yourself and your loved ones. Growing and changing is important, but denying your own identity will only hold you back. You are whole.
