Letter to Bird Song

Layla McDaniel | May 2, 2024

I know not what you resemble,

I have tried hard to assemble,

An image of a bird as it flew,

Bases only on its coo.

Its wings unseen, yet its spirit flies,

Through azure realms and cerulean skies.

With each note it weaves, a tale untold,

Of wonders vast, of stories old.

So even when sight fails, and vision’s dim,

I will listen close to nature's hymn.

For in the song of a bird unseen,

Lies the beauty of a world serene.
