February

Current Zodiac Season: Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Symbol: Water Bearer

Element: Air

Quality: Fixed

Ruling Planet: Uranus (new) Saturn (old)

→ Some signs have a new and old ruling planet because when astrology was created and studied, there were no modern telescopes to confirm the existence of certain planets. That’s how old astrology is!

 February Planetary Transitions

This month’s New Moon will peak in Aquarius at 7:05 PM on February 11. Between the period of time between the New Moon and the Full Moon, it is typically advised that people not undergo surgery. The Full Moon will peak in Virgo at 8:17 AM on February 27. Another fun fact: the February moon is called the “Snow Moon.”

The first Mercury Retrograde of 2021 will begin on January 30 and end on February 20 at 7:52 PM. This planet will still be in Aquarius for a couple more weeks after it goes direct, so don’t let overcoming this hurdle convince you to stop putting as much effort into expressing how you feel.

On February 1 at 9:05 AM, Venus enters Aquarius. As many likely know, Venus is the sign of love and romance. Aquarius is not only an air sign, but it is also of a fixed quality, meaning that in addition to Aqua’s generally closed off and aloof emotionality, they can be very stubborn and bluntly honest. I’m suspecting that Valentine’s Day may not be as romantic and lovey dovey as some people may desire.

At the end of the month, Venus will enter Pisces at 8:11 AM on February 25. This may lead people who have recently experienced a heartbreak to feel more sensitive about it than they did before. As for the romantic energy, better late than never!

Basic Astro Facts!

About the Sun: The most important thing you need to know about astrology, is that your “Sun sign” is the zodiac that you are familiar with, and can be found by your date of birth. For example, a person born on February 1 likely knows that they are an Aquarius.

Many people do not believe in astrology because they are caught up on how “vague” and “general” horoscopes are. Here’s some important news: horoscopes are most often based off of each Sun sign. That is the reason they are so vague! The Sun sign represents your ego – the most basic component of your personality. Plus, most horoscopes are simply made to make a lot of sales, and not actually provide insight into the astrological goings-on of your life.

→ Astrology is not perfect. Even people with the same signs and same characteristics find them manifesting in different ways. Think about other personality assessments such as the Meyers-Briggs test. Sometimes when you meet someone with the same personality type as you, you both still notice some differences in how your personality takes shape.
