Chapter Four

Welcome to the third installment of my first novel, Larita & Lyle!

My hope is that you’re here because you’ve read the first chapter and are looking for the next piece.

The fourth chapter of Larita & Lyle marks a turning point in the plot of the novel.

Told from Lyle’s perspective, the pair are housed in a barn after the rescue from the home for girls. Though it is unknown what Lyle’s fate has entailed after their separation in Chapter Two (titled Something Missing), it becomes evident that Lyle has brought trouble with him.

The themes prevalent in this chapter include intimacy, tension, isolation, law enforcement and gun violence.

Those who are sensitive to these subjects may read with caution.

Though I will not spoil the rest of the chapters, for those skeptical of the dynamic existing between Larita & Lyle can expect to see a change in the nature of Larita’s conceptualization of this relationship.

Seek out Chapter Five to gain more knowledge and insight into Larita’s journey through maturity and coming-of-age as she processes the harsh realities of her so-called trusted companion.
